Second Phase of Iran’s “Power” Army Air Defense Drill
WANA (Feb 04) – The Iranian Army commenced the second phase of the Power 2025 air defense drill this morning in the country’s southwest.
Led by the Army’s Air Defense Force, the exercise is being conducted under the supervision of Iran’s integrated air defense network across southwestern and central regions.
The drill involves detecting, identifying, intercepting, engaging, and destroying hostile targets, utilizing domestically developed radar systems and an expanded surveillance network.
The exercise demonstrated a strong defensive response against a simulated large-scale enemy attack. Iran’s air defense forces employed a visual surveillance network to detect and report low-altitude drone incursions within the country’s integrated command-and-control system.
Following the identification of enemy UAVs, the “Majid” missile system engaged the targets, successfully intercepting and downing hostile drones in the exercise zone.
Additionally, radar systems swiftly detected the incoming threats after simulated enemy aircraft attacked the region. The integrated air defense network then assigned the targets to the “Joshan” missile system, which successfully intercepted and neutralized them.
The Joshan missile system, equipped with a powerful passive radar, can track and engage targets without emitting detectable radar signals.
Passive radar technology enhances missile system agility while making it more difficult for adversaries to locate and target air defense installations.
